How are SMS messages handled?

The message content is limited to 160 characters for a “standard” SMS.

Here is the list of accepted characters:

You can send a “long” message of up to 5 SMS of 153 characters. Message concatenation uses 7 characters per concatenated message.

Each time an SMS payment order (successful or failed) debits your SMS balance with:
  • One unit for a “standard” SMS of 160 characters,
  • Between 2 and 5 units for “long” messages.

When the balance is below the alert threshold specified during your registration, an alert is sent by e-mail.

If the balance is depleted, an error message will appear:
  • On the screen when creating a payment order via the Back Office,
  • In the response when creating a payment order via Web Services,
  • In the transaction details in case of an IPN.
