Payment process
For the PostFinance payment method, the payment page presents two different logos:
- PostFinance Card,
- PostFinance e-finance.
- The buyer validates their shopping cart.
- The merchant website redirects the buyer to the payment gateway.For more information, see the Hosted Payment Page Implementation Guide available in our online documentation archive.
- When the parameters and their signature have been validated, the payment gateway displays the payment method selection page.
- The buyer chooses between two PostFinance payments method. Figure 1. Selection of a payment method
- The buyer is redirected to the PostFinance bank.
- If the buyer chooses PostFinance Card, they enter the ID number and the card number.Figure 2. The ID number entry pageFigure 3. The card number entry page
- If the buyer chooses PostFinance e-finance, they enter the security elements.Figure 4. The e-finance security elements entry page
The buyer will use the PostFinance ID or the Mobile ID tab to enter their identifiers.
Note: The buyer will also have to use their card reader or their Mobile ID in the following cases:- If the amount exceeds € 350 (or CHF 500) in case of payment with a PostFinance Card.
- If they are paying with PostFinance e-finance.

- The buyer is redirected to the payment gateway.If the payment is successfully completed, payment details are presented to the buyer with the possibility to download the receipt in PDF format.In case the transaction fails, a message appears. The buyer will be informed if the payment request is rejected.A link at the bottom of the page allows the buyer to return to the shop.
